Outdoor Activities to Enjoy during Environmental Health Month

Environmental Health Month is all about keeping our environment clean and healthy, so that we can stay healthy too! Living in a community that has large, open spaces with lots of greenery offers many health benefits that can help you and your family live longer and happier. This is why we do our best to ensure that all our outdoor spaces at Narra Park Residences are clean and well-maintained and encourage all homeowners to do the same.

In these outdoor spaces, our community members can enjoy a variety of activities that allow them to fully benefit from living in a healthy environment, and help them develop a better appreciation for nature. Here are a few examples.

Jogging

Going for a jog already offers many health benefits, and these benefits increase if you jog outdoors. Research shows that running outside can burn more calories than running indoors on a treadmill. Running outside can also help give you an energy boost or decrease feelings of tension or depression. At Narra Park Residences, our parks and sidewalks offer enough room for residents to jog safely while still practicing social distancing.

Biking

Our community roads and parks also offer lots of room for biking! Biking is a great alternative to jogging when it comes to cardio exercise. Teaching your kids how to ride a bike in a safe environment is also a good way to bond with them and create memories they will cherish for years to come.

Walking Pets

The cute and fuzzy members of your family need time outdoors, too! Help your pets get the exercise they need by walking around the neighborhood or playing with them in one of our parks. Make sure to be a responsible pet owner by keeping your pet safe and cleaning up after them, especially in public spaces.

Basketball

While team sports and group gatherings are still not permitted, you can still take some time to practice on your own at our basketball half court. Doing solo basketball drills outdoors can still help improve your endurance and physical strength, as well as your balance and coordination. It can even help children develop better motor skills as they grow.

When you spend time doing these outdoor activities, you can really appreciate how much good nature does for us, and realize how important it is for us to keep taking care of it.
