7 Simple and Practical Ways to Beat the Summer Heat

As the El Niño phenomenon stretches into 2016, we all face another scorching summer. But worry not: you don’t have to keep the A/C on full blast or buy another electric fan just to stay cool. Check out these simple and practical ways to beat the summer heat!

Dense curtains make it harder for the summer breeze to enter your home. To improve airflow, replace your curtains with thin, light-colored ones instead.

Using the stove or oven raises the temperature inside your home, so fire up the grill and do your cooking outdoors. And since it’s summer, you can easily turn your barbecues into a backyard party. Just invite your friends over, stock up on grill-friendly food, and have fun!
